AUTO START Electric Start System puts you in control! Once again Amusement Products has changed the way to karts will operate. The company that created the Select One Kart Kommander radio-controlled safety system has added another tool to make operating a go kart track easier. The AUTO START is an engine starter that starts the go kart when the rider pushes the pedal, which has many advantages over pull starters. Very compact, the AUTO START system fits on top of Gas-Powered engines (5hp-13hp) in the location of the standard fuel tank. The unit can be placed on nearly every manufacturer's kart. The AUTO START is used in combination with Amusement Products' Select One radio control system. Integrated with t he Select One system, Auto Start System will automatically release the kart to be started by the rider when the attendant starts the ride. Using a wireless remote control, the attendant can start the ride, stop a single kart, stop all karts and restart the ride from anywhere around the track. Using the AUTOSTART, the traditional way of starting a go kart by pulling the starter cord is obsolete.

Here is what AUTO START will change:

• Flexible Hiring- Attendant can be female or retiree since no arm strength is required to start the kart, allowing for more staffing flexibility and better customer service

• Karts will only run during the ride, saving gas (AUTOSTART saves 1 to 1.5 gallons on a 6 hp engine and 1.5 to 2 gallons on a 9 HP engine).

• With less run time at idle, your karts will have less engine wear, spark-plug wear, air filter fouling, and oil replacement parts

• Ease of operation will be dramatically increased because of automatic starting and stopping of engines

• Emissions are reduced due to less run time and no running at idle

• Reduced labor costs- No labor to start the karts means less attendants are needed to operate a track. Where three to five attendants used to be needed, one to three are plenty using the AUTOSTART system saving you money every shift.

• Fringe Season Efficiency- In the early Spring and late Fall, the is no longer a need to "hold" employees on site in case you need to run the track. A trained counter person can go start the go kart ride and stop the ride all with the push of a button.

• Better Cold Starting- While the engines are difficult to pull start when the weather turns cool, the AUTOSTART uses an automatic choke and turns the engine much faster for an easy cold weather start.

How AUTOSTART works with Select One: At the start of the ride, the attendant presses the "ride start" button on the wireless remote or from the attendant station, engaging the AUTOSTART and staring the time. Once the ride has started, the riders can start their own engines by pressing the gas pedal. At the end of the ride, the Select One automatically times out, changing the lights from green to red and shuts the engines off when they are between 100 and 150 feet from the pit (Approach Area). If a rider stops before coasting into the pit, the attendant can press an Approach Area release button to allow the rider to restart their engine and drive in. Once they enter the pit area, the engine automatically shuts off again and will not restart until the beginning of the next ride.

Not only does the Select One control the traffic lights, it also times the rides. It also allows the attendant to stop one or all karts during the ride. Lastly, the remote on the go kart also acts as a smart charger making sure the battery recharges correctly without overcharging so it is ready for the next restart. Though gas and labor savings alone, the AUTOSTART will pay for itself in the first year. When you add in the engine wear reduction and maintenance reduction that it provides, it is an invaluable operational tool for a go kart track.
