AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL CURRENT KART KOMMANDER OWNERS-
CHANGES FOR THE FUTURE

The Kart Kommander changed the industry eleven years ago as the first radio-controlled system for go-kart tracks. Now it is time for the Kart Kommander to change. The radios used in the original models (02-06) are no longer available. They used analog technology that is now obsolete and no longer in production. Having foreseen this change, Amusement Products spent the last year refining the system to create the new Select One Kart Kommander. It uses the newer style digital radio technology.

For those of you with the old system, this does not mean we have left you behind. We have created a way for our customers to either convert immediately at a reduced cost or gradually over time.

While we have a very small stock of old style receivers, which we will sell on a first-come first-serve basis, we are offering the opportunity to trade in your old system’s working components at a rate of $75.00US per receiver and $150.00US for a transmitter to apply towards the purchase of a new system. Units returned will be tested to verify that they are working properly before credit is issued. Bad units will be disposed of or returned F.O.B. Amusement Products if you want them back. Units that pass the tests will become reconditioned units and available for customers that wish to avoid changing for a while. These reconditioned units will sold to customers as they become available. If you use the existing flywheel, coil, solenoid and bracket that you currently have, the receiver cost of $325 is reduced to $250.00US with the trade in. The transmitter cost of $1,295.00US is reduced to $1,145.00US.

If the Select One receiver units are not available, or for those customers who want to slowly convert to the new system, we have designed the new Select One system to use the same loop frequency that you currently have. Simply install the existing loop wires and traffic light wires to the new box. However, when you need to buy a new receiver unit for a kart, you will also need to buy a new transmitter. Your old functioning* transmitter will have to be returned to us to enable us to remove the old radio transmitter and install it in the new Select One transmitter box. This will allow the Select One transmitter to broadcast both signals simultaneously, allowing it to turn both new and old receivers back to idle in the all idle mode. Note that only the new Select One receivers will be individually addressable (see attached Select One feature sheet). This allows you to gradually change all the receivers over to the Select One receivers. The new transmitter box is $1,495.00US (including the fee for transferring the radio). The receivers are $325.00US each.

*NOTE: To elect to slowly change over to the new system requires that your old-style radio transmitter will work properly. If not, or if the old radio unit should fail in the future, then the entire fleet must be converted.

While we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, we believe the new unit is not only a necessary change but an improvement as well. The new wireless remote for the Select One is phenomenal! The receivers are more power efficient and now put less stress on the solenoids. The transmitter technology is a more reliable and versatile system. All receivers, while individually addressable, require only a single spare unit used for all of them (even on different tracks!). Any Select One receiver unit can be easily programmed on site by the owner for both frequency number and individual kart signature number.

The tail light comes on whenever the kart’s Select One receiver is activated, instantly signaling riders following that this kart is slowing down and to avoid the kart. This is especially valuable when a single kart is selected to slow down as there are no other indications. The tail light also gives the operator instant feedback when the kart is put in idle. While an additional $100 option per kart, it is a safety and low-maintenance addition that can help the running of your track. The main console standard display is the time remaining so the attendant can know when the ride will be over.

For questions or to start the conversion process, please call Geoff Lee, Buddy O'Guinn, or Sally Scroggins at 1-800-438-3558 to discuss the Select One system.

Sincerely,
